This pack will create a herringbone drainage system up to 50 metres in total length within a garden area, or in any other configuration to best fit your project, and you can purchase additional junctions or end caps if needed.
The filter sock is particularly effective at preventing silty sandy soil from entering the drainage pipe stopping it becoming blocked over time. However, it can be used in all soil types when installed correctly.
Allow for a 150mm layer of top soil, 100mm layer of stone in the bottom of the trench, and a trench wide enough to surround the land drain pipe coil in stone or gravel. The use of free draining stone or gravel around the pipe is required to prevent the surrounding soil from blocking the drainage holes in the pipe or sock, and will improve the effectiveness and longevity of the system.
